Reflections from a NADA trainee:
A PsyD Clinical Psychologist – “I went into the Acudetox training with trepidation. I wanted the wisdom but unsure I wanted to actually stick people. When I witnessed the benefits of treatment it transformed my perception of the process. With each new person I treat and the resulting positive benefits I find myself wanting to engage in Acudetox rather than traditional therapy. I have come to realize that the latter has its place but it also has its limitations. The addition of Acudetox transforms the therapeutic alliance and hence, the outcome. I have always believed that the therapeutic alliance is critical in building trust. Once trust is established the deeper work can begin. Acudetox afford me the possibility of expediting the trust in efforts to build a relationship with the patient. I find that many of the patients I have treated with Acudetox are curious as well as desirous of true change. The training has inspired me to go deeper into m y own yoga practice and meditation. The calmer and more self-assured I am, the greater the potential for me to help others. I am very grateful for the gift of Acudetox.” Jill Pollock, PsyD
