Acupuncture – A “teaching tool” paper written by a Circle Patient

It is said that acupuncture helps people recover from AOD use, in all stages of recovery. Detoxification, to relieve the symptoms of withdrawal. Rehabilitation, to reduce depression and induce relaxation. Finally relapse prevention to encourage relaxation and relieve or prevent drug cravings.

Before Circle Program, there was no way, you were going to poke me with a needle. Especially in the damn ear. I told myself no way, no how, forget you, then I let go and did it anyway, just to say I’ve done it. And to my amazement, it relaxed me, enough to go to sleep around a bunch of other people. I don’t really know.

I was dumb-founded that a few pokes in my ears and complete relaxation. I have done a lot of drugs in the past 27 years, a lot. And who would have known about acupuncture. I probably could have saved a ton of money, heartache and years of my life with needles in my ear. It is probably my addictive personality but I really like acupuncture, what a great sober way to relax.

Solutions:

  1. One of my solutions would be to continue acupuncture
  2. Two – experiment with other acupuncture techniques instead of ear needles.
  3. Third – continue using sober solutions to relax and not relapse
